Salyntra Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Your data, your rights, and how we protect your privacy.

Salyntra is a salon-management platform designed to help salon, spa, and beauty business owners manage their operations. To provide these services, we process information about salon owners, staff, and the clients whose records salons maintain on the platform. We believe you should know what information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we retain it, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising. This Privacy Policy explains our data-handling practices and the choices available to you when you use Salyntra.

1. Who we are

Salyntra ("we", "our", or "us") is a salon-management platform available at salyntra.com, operated from Lagos, Nigeria.

For questions about this policy, requests concerning personal data, or privacy complaints, contact us at:

Email: hello@inquiries.salyntra.com

Depending on the information involved, Salyntra acts as a data controller for information used to operate its own service, such as account and subscription information, and as a data processor when handling client information on behalf of a salon. Salon businesses remain responsible for how they collect and use their clients' information through the platform.

2. What information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Salyntra and which features you use.

Account and profile information

For salon owners, staff, and clients who create accounts with us, this may include:

  • Name, email address, and phone number.
  • Login credentials, with passwords stored as one-way bcrypt hashes rather than in plain text.
  • Account roles, permissions, and salon associations.
  • Authentication and session information, including device details and login activity.

Salon and business information

To provide salon-management functionality, we process information such as:

  • Salon name, contact information, location, and business details.
  • Opening hours, services, pricing, and staff assignments.
  • Staff compensation arrangements, commission rates, and payroll figures.
  • Sales, expenses, inventory, appointments, and other operational records.
  • Optional staff bank account details for easy retrieval during payment.

Some of these business records may contain personal information about owners, employees, or other individuals.

Client information

Salons may enter client information into Salyntra to manage their relationships and services. Depending on the features used, this may include:

  • First and last name, phone number, and optional email address.
  • Optional birthday information.
  • Appointment history and services received.
  • Payment records, tips, and related transaction information.
  • Loyalty points, balances, and redemption history.

Salon owners and authorized staff are responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate basis to collect and enter client information into the platform.

Payment and subscription information

Salyntra processes payment-related information for two different purposes.

Payments made by salon clients: When clients pay for services through an integrated payment provider, Salyntra receives transaction information such as the amount, payment status, and relevant transaction reference. We do not store salon clients' card details.

Payments for Salyntra subscriptions: We use Paystack to facilitate recurring subscription payments from salon owners. To support these charges, Salyntra retains payment authorization information and associated card-related metadata made available through the payment integration. Paystack handles the underlying card credentials; Salyntra does not store full card numbers or card security codes (CVVs).

Payment information is used to maintain transaction records, identify saved subscription payment methods, and process subscription charges.

Technical and activity information

When you use Salyntra, we may collect technical information such as:

  • IP addresses, truncated where possible.
  • Device and session information.
  • Login times and authentication events.
  • Audit records of actions performed within the platform.

We use this information to operate the service, enforce access permissions, investigate issues, and protect accounts and business records.

3. How we use your information

We process personal information for specific operational purposes.

  • Provide the service: Manage accounts, appointments, clients, staff, services, sales, expenses, and other features you use.
  • Process payments: Track client transactions and administer salon subscription billing.
  • Communicate with you: Deliver appointment reminders, verification codes, password-reset messages, and relevant service communications.
  • Protect accounts: Detect suspicious activity, enforce access controls, apply rate limits, and investigate potential abuse.
  • Maintain records: Support business recordkeeping, financial reconciliation, and operational reporting.
  • Meet legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Improve the service: Investigate technical issues, understand operational problems, and improve the functionality and reliability of Salyntra.

We do not sell personal information, share it with advertisers for third-party advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles for other companies.

4. Our legal grounds for processing

We process personal information under applicable data-protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 where it applies.

Depending on the circumstances, our legal grounds for processing include:

  • Contractual necessity: Processing required to create and manage accounts, deliver requested features, provide subscriptions, and fulfil our agreements with users.
  • Legal obligations: Processing necessary to meet applicable legal, regulatory, accounting, or recordkeeping requirements.
  • Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for purposes such as securing the platform, preventing abuse, maintaining service reliability, and protecting our legitimate business interests, where those interests are not overridden by individuals' rights.
  • Consent: Processing based on consent where consent is the appropriate legal ground, including where applicable for optional communications or other consent-based activities.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing that took place lawfully before the withdrawal, and it does not affect processing that has another valid legal basis.

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information with service providers and other parties only where necessary for the purposes described in this policy or where the law permits or requires it.

Email and SMS providers

We use Resend and Twilio to deliver messages such as verification codes, password resets, and appointment reminders. Relevant contact information and message-related data are shared as needed to deliver these communications.

Payment providers

We use Paystack to process card payments and facilitate recurring subscription charges. Paystack processes payment information under its own applicable terms and privacy practices.

For subscription billing, Salyntra retains the payment authorization information and limited card-related metadata needed to identify and charge the saved payment method. We do not store full card numbers or CVVs in Salyntra.

Hosting and infrastructure providers

We rely on hosting and infrastructure services to operate the application, store information, and maintain the technical systems required to deliver Salyntra.

Public authorities

We may disclose information when required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful request from an authorized authority.

We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for their independent advertising purposes.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers or their infrastructure may operate outside Nigeria. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in other countries depending on the service involved.

Where international transfers of personal information are subject to applicable data-protection requirements, we will take the measures required by those laws to support lawful transfers and protect the information involved.

For further information about a particular provider or transfer, contact us at hello@inquiries.salyntra.com.

7. How we protect your information

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction.

These safeguards include:

  • Password hashing using bcrypt.
  • Additional sign-in verification for supported accounts.
  • Role-based access controls and server-side authorization.
  • Separation between salon-level access and platform administration.
  • HTTPS encryption for data transmitted between browsers and the application.
  • Audit trails for salon activity and platform administration.
  • Automated backups to support data protection and recovery.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. We maintain these safeguards as part of our responsibility to protect the information entrusted to Salyntra.

For more details, see our Security page.

8. How long we retain information

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, meet applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the platform.

Active accounts

Account information is retained while the relevant account remains active, subject to applicable retention requirements.

Deleted salons

Deleting a salon starts a 30-day grace period during which the salon can be restored.

After the grace period expires, the salon's identifiable data and associated operational records are permanently deleted. The deletion process also removes this data from retained backups.

The exception is financial data retained in a completely de-identified format. Certain financial records may be preserved for legitimate accounting, audit, or recordkeeping purposes, provided they no longer contain information that identifies the salon's clients, staff, or other individuals.

The deleted salon cannot be restored after the grace period. Creating a new salon does not restore the deleted salon or its records.

Other records

Certain account, subscription, transaction, security, and communication records may be retained for as long as necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or to meet applicable legal obligations. Where deletion or de-identification is required, we apply the relevant process to the records covered by that requirement.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on the applicable law and the circumstances of the processing, you may have the right to:

  • Access your information: Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain access to it.
  • Correct inaccurate information: Update your profile information or request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion: Ask us to erase personal information where the applicable legal conditions are met.
  • Object to processing: Object to certain processing activities, including processing based on legitimate interests where the law provides this right.
  • Restrict processing: Request that certain processing activities be restricted where the applicable conditions are met.
  • Request data portability: Obtain certain personal information in a usable format or request its transfer where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Raise a complaint: Contact us about how your information is handled and complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions. For example, some information may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or protect other people's rights.

How to exercise your rights

You can use the available options in Salyntra:

  • Export data: Use Settings to access the available data-export functionality.
  • Delete an account: Navigate to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Salon owners must transfer ownership first where required.
  • Correct profile details: Use the profile editor to update information that can be edited directly.
  • Submit a privacy request: Email hello@inquiries.salyntra.com with a description of your request.

We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days of receiving them. If we need additional information to verify your identity or clarify your request, we will let you know.

Where we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason to the extent required by applicable law.

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom and the relevant data-protection laws apply to the processing, you may also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

In Nigeria, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where applicable.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

Salyntra uses strictly necessary cookies to support essential application functions, including session authentication and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site advertising trackers, or analytics cookies.

These essential cookies help the application operate securely and maintain authenticated sessions. They are not used to build advertising profiles.

11. Children's information

Salyntra is a business-management platform intended for salon, spa, and beauty businesses, not a service directed at children.

Salon businesses are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate authority and lawful basis to enter information about their clients, including children where applicable.

If you believe personal information has been submitted to Salyntra inappropriately, contact us at hello@inquiries.salyntra.com so we can review the circumstances and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our services, data-handling practices, or legal obligations change.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users by email where appropriate.

We encourage users to review this page periodically to understand how Salyntra handles their information.
