A status level clients reach, and what it should be measured on.
A loyalty tier is a status level a client reaches once their accumulated points pass a threshold you set, carrying perks you define — a standing discount, priority booking, whatever you choose. The design decision that matters is what the threshold measures: lifetime points, or points earned in a rolling window. Salyntra supports both, and the choice determines whether "Gold" means a good client ever or a good client now.
Lifetime tiers never demote anyone. That is generous and simple, and it means a client who has not visited in three years still arrives expecting Gold treatment.
Rolling tiers measure the last however-many months, so status reflects current custom. It is the honest choice for most salons, and it is the one to explain clearly to clients before you switch it on.
The functional ones are: a tier perk that gives a discount is a real discount rule triggered by that tier, so it applies at the till without anybody remembering. The written description of a tier’s benefits is separate copy you control — nothing invents a perk you did not configure.
No. Redemption and expiry never touch the lifetime figure, so spending points does not cost status. Only a refund that genuinely reverses an earning reduces it.
